BUDDY BACKPACKS – MESA Volunteers delivered 1,571 BBPs = 9,426 weekend meals and snacks to 7 area Elementary Schools for Food Insecure children in 2020.

“STUFF THE BUS” was done differently this year due to COVID. This August, MESA-OUTREACH with the help of the Charity Guild of Catholic Women’s Grant and donations from St. Aidan’s Episcopal and other MESA donors purchased 407 School Supply Packs for elementary kids in need (PreK-5th grade) and delivered these to Bear Creek Elementary School (KISD) and Horne Elementary School (CFISD).

“SHARE THE TABLE” on November 24, blessed 307 Families with boxes and bags of canned goods, bread, meat, fresh apples and potatoes, brownie mix, apple juice, butter, and more including a HEB gift card.

*Due to COVID-19 restrictions MESA was unable to hold their usual Annual Community Outreach Events: STUFF THE BUS on August 4, 2020 and SHARE THE TABLE in the Gym @ BCUMC. Per HFB guidelines MESA’s distribution method is a drive through system of food delivery to each vehicle, and clients are not allowed to exit their vehicles for their safety and the safety of our volunteers and staff.
